Palm Springs

We were able to have a Tidwell Family vacation this year. We went to Palm Springs and we drove into San Diego a couple times.
We left on July 23rd and we stayed in Grass Valley CA, for a couple days. Adam spent many years of his Childhood in Grass Valley. I loved this area of California. It's in the Sierra Nevadas, so it was really green and fertile. We had a great time going to the different places Adam grew up. We went to this really cool watering hole where the locals go to swim. We spent 2 nights here and then we drove down to Palm Springs.
We did a lot of swimming. Palm Springs in July is super hot!!! We drove into San Diego a couple days. We went to Sea World one day, which was awesome. Bentley had a great time. He loved the shows and he really enjoyed watching Shamu and the other animals swim and play. He was able to help Paige and Tycee and Tif feed the Dolphins. We had a great time in Sea World. I hope to go back soon.
We had to go to the San Diego Zoo while we were there. This zoo is awesome. It is so big and there were quite a few people there. The Panda Bears were on exhibit while we were there, however there was a line about 2 hours long just to look at them, so we bought a magnet with the pictures of the panda on it instead. Bentley was so excited to see the elephants, but he fell asleep right before we got to that exhibit so he missed them. I wasn't about to wake him up, by this time he was super grouchy. He did wake up to see the monkeys. He really liked the orangutan.
We had to go to the beach while we were in California. We spent our last day at the beach. It was a perfect overcast day in the water. It wasn't too hot or too cold. Bentley loved playing in the sand and the water. Paige and Tycee had a great time as well. They said they had the most fun at the beach. When we were getting ready to go I set our backpack down by the showers so I could rinse off. Well we gathered everyone else and left the back pack sitting there. We didn't realize we had left it until we had been on the road for about 45 minutes. We said a prayer and turned around and by the time we had got there they were about to close the gates to the parking lot and pretty much everyone was gone. I went back to the showers and thank goodness the bag was still there!!! Adam wasn't very happy with me, but he didn't even say one mean word to me. Overall we had a great vacation. I was glad we were able to spend some time together as a family.
